FUNCTIONAL STRENGTH BASICS (“Grundlagen des Funktionellen Krafttrainings”)

This course offers you a unique opportunity to understand, learn and consolidate the 2 essential aspects of functional training:
1. Learn and refine your technique and work permanently and in a healthy way on increasing performance
2. Learning of joint mobilization techniques (triggering, flossing, manual mobilization)
Our 8-week prevention course is certified by the Central Testing Office for Prevention (Zentrale Prüfstelle für Prävention), which means that it is recognized by the health insurance companies and that the costs are covered on a pro rata basis. The proportion of cost coverage can vary from 75-100%, depending on whether you are insured with Techniker Krankenkasse, AOK, DAK Gesundheit, Barmer, Debeka, SBK or one of the other major health insurers. It is best to find out before the start of the prevention course whether and to what extent your insucrance will cover the costs of a prevention course.

Goals of the prevention course:

  • Prevention and reduction of specific health risks through suitable behavior and health-oriented exercise programs
  • Learn and perfect everyday movements, e.g. running, jumping, bending, crouching, lifting, hanging, pulling; instead of training isolated muscles
  • Increase mobility through stretching exercises and myofascial release techniques to counteract stiffness
  • Strengthening the spinal and joint muscles through basic functional training exercises to ensure stability
  • Learning a healthy posture under stress in order to avoid joint wear
  • Strengthening physical health resources (especially the factors health-related fitness, endurance, strength, flexibility, coordination ability, ability to relax)
  • Reduction of risk factors (especially those of the cardiovascular system and the musculoskeletal system)
  • Building attachment to healthy sporting activities
  • Improvement of physical activity conditions (e.g. through the development of cooperative networks for access to and continuation of a healthy sporting activity)

After completing the course, the participants are able to apply the basics of functional training to a wide range of sports.
