GET STARTED – YOUR INTRODUCTION TO FUNCTIONAL TRAINING
Get Started is about learning and optimizing the most essential techniques of functional training. You’ll also learn how to adapt and scale different exercises to your own ability level. Typical exercises include squats, push ups, kettle bell swings, deadlifts, cleans, and snatches.
The conditioning and technical basis you acquire here will give you an excellent head start in your everyday training. Once you’ve been through these classes you can confidently take part in the GetStrong courses and participate in CrossTraining.
Get Started isn’t just about perfecting new movemnts. After thorough technical instruction comes a workout in which you’ll need to apply the new abilities you’ve learned directly.
The overhead squat presents a fantastic opportunity to improve mobility. A basic level of hip flexibility and bodily tension is an elementary part of several complex and functional exercises.
The neutral spine position comes from the natural oscillation of your spine, which behaves like a double S. Your lower back and neck (lumbar and cervical spine) each curve forwards while your chest (thoracic spine) curve backwards. It is very important to bring your pelvis into a natural position in order to reduce pressure on your spine.
This exercise will take you to your limits and when properly executed, deadlifting will make you muscles burn AND get your blood pumping.
